Funny Ha Ha?

Travis Pastrana and Greg Godfrey have been partners in crime for a few years now. For anyone who has never been to the Pastrana compound, it is a madhouse. Jumping motorized vehicles into foam pits, hundred foot long slip-n-slides through the woods, boxing matches and Shock Trauma chopper rides are in a days activity calendar for these knuckleheads. Travis and friends produce the mayhem while Greg documents it. Well the latest flick is out and you should check it out. Nitro Circus

So apparently hunger no longer exsists in America. Thanks to a nifty drop of the word from the US Gov's vocabulary.

The winter months

So how much do you ride in the winter? Well I was talking to the bike the other day and we decided, mutually of course, that we would try to get out at least three times a week for some good long rides. Now we have had our differences in the past and we have certainly played the blame game but we have abandoned our partisan bickering and decided to work together. We realize that we have to live with each other and that we might as well benefit from each others different point of view. She claims (yes, she) that I rarely make use of her and that she often feels neglected. I seem to remember all the flats and loose swingarm bolts, which of course she claims comes from a lack of maintenance.

So we as a united group decided to focus all of our efforts into getting out and riding at whatever the cost. I will maintain her and put her to use and she won’t buck me off or get any flats. We both feel better about our relationship and we feel we were able to voice our opinions of the past and speak openly on what we feel needs to be done to make change for the future. We did not yell nor was a single tear shed. We listened and collectively made decisions to accomplish our goals. In the end we will end up cruising down the trail happy and that’s exactly where both of us want to be.

Chow Time

I used to be vegetarian. That didn't work out. Especially around the holidays the To-Furkey just didn't have the same flair as the dead bird. The sweet call of bacon eventually brought me running back, but as much as I may endulge in my carnivorous cravings, we all have our limit. Enter this delicacy.

Tur-Duc-Hen
Picture this - chicken stuffed with your choice of five dressings, stuffed inside a deboned duck that is stuffed with more dressing. Then put those two birds inside a turkey filled with even more stuffing and you have a 15-lb. delicacy known as a Tur-Duc-Hen. It's a true Southern dining experience that will have your holiday guests raving. Or, if you are looking for incredible Southern flavor for a smaller party, the Tur-Duc-Hen Roll is a 4-lb. helping of seasoned turkey breast stuffed with layers of duck and chicken, and dressed with creole pork sausage. Refrigeration needed. Arrives fresh, frozen, and ready to cook.

It is great to know that somewhere in the world there are people hungry. Not if Cabelas has anything to say about it. Never feel the pain of hunger again with Tur-Duc-Hen, hell boy you can eat three sweet meats in every bite, tell me that ain't heaven on earth!

Watch what you say.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A 65-year-old Australian man was fined S$10,000 ($6,423) by a Singapore court for uttering the word "bomb" on a flight to Indonesia, The Straits Times reported on Wednesday.
Riccardo Paulin, a retiree, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to having asked a flight attendant "Where do you keep the bomb?" on a flight operated by Singapore regional carrier SilkAir to the Indonesian city of Surabaya, the newspaper said.
The newspaper said he made the remark after trying to find space in the overhead lockers.
Paulin was charged under the United Nations anti-terrorism regulations, which carry a maximum fine of S$100,000 or up to five years in jail or both.
He apologized to the court for his remark, saying it was meant as a joke.

A little bit of everything.

    The "Juice" is loose

    By Paul J. Gough

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox said Tuesday it will air a two-part interview with O.J. Simpson at month's end in which he describes the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend that he says he didn't commit.
The interview will be conducted by editor and book publisher Judith Regan. On November 30, her Regan Books is publishing a book Simpson wrote with the working title "If I Did It, Here's How It Happened."
Fox said Simpson's book "hypothetically describes" how he would have committed the murders. The special will air at 9 p.m. November 27 and 29 on Fox.

Fox executives declined comment about the show Tuesday. In a statement released Tuesday, executive vice-president/alternative programming Mike Darnell said: "This is an interview that no one thought would ever happen. It's the definitive last chapter in the trial of the century."
Fox is a subsidiary of News Corp., which also owns Regan Books.
A spokeswoman for Regan Books didn't return a phone call or an e-mail seeking comment Tuesday.
Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman; he can't be tried again for those crimes. In 1997, a civil court found him responsible for the slayings and ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the victims' families.

Thanks Paul for that "Juice" update
    O.J., what a bastard.

Seems as if N.E.R.D. maestro Pharrell Williams has just purchased a portion of the BMW company. Thats Brooklyn Machine Works for those of you who don't pedal.

    Your money at work.

For those of you who race and travel with your bike, it just got alittle more expensive.

    Dear USA Cycling Members,

(Sorry if you get this message twice, the original sent to part of the membership had the incorrect subject line, so we are resending it.)

It is with great disappointment that we tell you USA Cycling was informed by United Airlines that they will be unable to continue their sponsorship support of USA Cycling in 2007.

What does this mean for you, the members? Unfortunately, it means that USA Cycling members will no longer be entitled to receive two "Bikes Travel Free" vouchers for United Airlines with the purchase of their 2007 license. United said it decided to discontinue its relationships with all other National Governing Bodies and focus their sponsorship efforts on the U.S. Olympic Committee.

USA Cycling and United had a long term and fruitful relationship over the past 16 years that benefited both parties. USA Cycling members generated a tremendous amount of business for United Airlines while United supported the U.S. Cycling Team and our members through its sponsorship. United cited one of the primary reasons to discontinue the bike vouchers program was its increasing use of the smaller "regional" jets the past few years. The smaller jets provide little room in the baggage compartment for oversize luggage like bike bags.

All United Airlines bike vouchers with an expiration date of January 31, 2007 will be honored. Also, USA Cycling members with a 2007 license can still request their allotted bike vouchers, however all United Airlines vouchers will expire on January 31, 2007.

After launching several new member benefits in 2006, it is USA Cycling's goal to continue to develop and implement new programs that will help us serve you better and provide more value to your membership.

    Sincerely,

    Steve Johnson
    CEO

    Go out and Vote!

We have such a wonderful ability to be able to have our voices heard and to cast a vote for who we believe is the best suited to represent our needs and desires. We believe in our form of government so strongly that we are willing to travel to other countries and share the idea of democracy. Watching the images of Iraqis coming out in droves in fear of their lives just to cast a vote, to be apart of the first democratic process of their country was amazing. These are people who have been oppressed and living in fear for so many years and they were taking their lives back and taking their country back. All who voted bear the mark of the purple finger dipped in ink to prevent anyone from voting twice. The basic democratic action of voting was made official and accurate by simply dipping their finger in ink. In our country we cast our votes via computer touch screen, hoping it is accurate. We have had quite a bit of controversy over electronic voting machines. "They make our life easier by quickly adding the votes" they say, but speculation and doubt fill the air around these machines and their maker Diebold. As upsetting as some of these accusations can be the best medicine is truly a strong offense. Cast your vote, be apart of the process.

    Music and Art-Art in Music

Music is important, everyone has his or hers "Life Soundtracks" forever playing and changing in their minds. For me one of those artist would be Pharoahe Monch. Bio by main-man Steve Huey

While a member of the New York City duo Organized Konfusion , Pharoahe Monch developed a reputation as one of underground hip-hop's pre-eminent lyricists, crafting intricate and intelligent raps with partner Prince Poetry . After recording three albums together from 1991-1997, the two split up amicably, and Monch pursued a more aggressive solo style with the terrific independent label Rawkus. He made guest appearances on other artists' records and contributed tracks to the Rawkus compilation Soundbombing II, which raised expectations for his solo debut. The single/video "Simon Says" was released in the summer of 1999 and became a massive hit among rap and club audiences, setting the stage for a surprising debut "Internal Affairs" upon its release several months later. Say real Hip Hop!

In other art/music news Geffen records founder David Geffen just sold his Jackson Pollock painting for $140 milion clams!

Rush should go "Back to the Future"

Politics is a topic to tread lightly. I respect the views of many and feel that a benefit of this country is the diversified thoughts of its citizens.
Rush Limbaugh on the other hand is an insensitive, pompous jackass that we are forced to share this country with.

This exerpt is from the Washington Post...
Possibly worse than making fun of someone's disability is saying that it's imaginary. That is not to mock someone's body, but to challenge a person's guts, integrity, sanity.

To Rush Limbaugh on Monday, Michael J. Fox looked like a faker. The actor, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, has done a series of political ads supporting candidates who favor stem cell research, including Maryland Democrat Ben Cardin, who is running against Republican Michael Steele for the Senate seat being vacated by Paul Sarbanes.

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," Limbaugh told listeners. "He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."
    October 2006

He is the last person who needs to be telling people about properly taking medication.

    This excerpt from CNN.com...
Rush Limbaugh announced on his radio program Friday that he is addicted to pain medication and that he is checking himself into a treatment center immediately.
