Go out and Vote!

We have such a wonderful ability to be able to have our voices heard and to cast a vote for who we believe is the best suited to represent our needs and desires. We believe in our form of government so strongly that we are willing to travel to other countries and share the idea of democracy. Watching the images of Iraqis coming out in droves in fear of their lives just to cast a vote, to be apart of the first democratic process of their country was amazing. These are people who have been oppressed and living in fear for so many years and they were taking their lives back and taking their country back. All who voted bear the mark of the purple finger dipped in ink to prevent anyone from voting twice. The basic democratic action of voting was made official and accurate by simply dipping their finger in ink. In our country we cast our votes via computer touch screen, hoping it is accurate. We have had quite a bit of controversy over electronic voting machines. "They make our life easier by quickly adding the votes" they say, but speculation and doubt fill the air around these machines and their maker Diebold. As upsetting as some of these accusations can be the best medicine is truly a strong offense. Cast your vote, be apart of the process.
